Cappiello has made numerous projects of sets and costumes for ballet. So, Leonide Massine, dancer of the Diaghilev's troupe, asked him to do some for ballets he had to produce in United States. It concernes "Noir et Blanc" (Black and white)," Ali-Baba" and "Le Diable dans le beffroi" (Devil in the belfrey) adapted from an Edgar Poe’s short story to an Inghelbrecht’ musique. Sacha Guitry did the same with “Les Jouets” (The toys).
